What We Install

Solar, storage and charging that actually work together

Solar PV

Every system starts with your roof rather than a standard package. We evaluate pitch, orientation, daily shading, and the state of your roof to design a layout that fits perfectly. You will receive a comprehensive written design, a reliable performance estimate calculated to the MCS standard, and a clear, fixed price before any work begins.

Battery storage

A battery lets you use your generation in the evenings instead of paying peak rates, keeping essential circuits running during power cuts. We install Tesla Powerwall and GivEnergy, and build custom storage through our in-house business, AmpereArc. This ensures your system is sized perfectly to your usage, rather than relying on distributor stock.

EV chargers

We install and maintain EV charge points for homes and businesses, from a first charger on a driveway to fault-finding on existing setups. Charging from your own solar generation is where a charger truly saves money. We configure your charger to prioritize surplus solar energy, seamlessly switching to cheap-rate grid imports when solar isn't available.

Our Work

Projects

From EV chargers to full battery systems, every UK installation is engineered in-house. The mounting structure is drawn for your roof and the electrical design for your usage, not lifted from a template.

Questions we get asked

Most are. South-facing is best, but east and west roofs work well, and a split array across two pitches often makes more sense than cramming everything onto one.

What matters more than orientation is shading, roof condition and the space you actually have once vents, dormers and chimneys are accounted for. That is what the survey is for. If your roof needs work before panels go on it, we will tell you rather than build on top of a problem.

Price depends on system size, the equipment specified, roof access and whether scaffolding is needed, and whether you add battery storage.

We do not quote before we have seen the roof. You get a fixed written price with your design after the survey, and it is the price you pay. No day-rate variations, no discovering the scaffolding was extra.

Not at the moment. Installation of solar panels and battery storage in domestic property is zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027, after which the rate returns to 5%.

On a typical domestic system that is a difference of a few hundred pounds, so it is worth factoring into your timing.

It depends on how much electricity you use, when you use it, your tariff, your roof orientation and whether you add a battery. Any figure quoted before a survey is a guess.

What we give you instead is a performance estimate calculated to the MCS standard, showing expected annual generation for your specific roof. Put that alongside your own consumption and tariff and you get a real number rather than an optimistic one.

Not necessarily, and we will not push one on you.

A battery earns its keep if you use most of your electricity in the evening, when your panels are not producing. It lets you store cheap or self-generated power and use it at peak rate instead of buying at peak rate. It also keeps essential circuits running during a power cut.

If you are at home during the day and already using most of what you generate, the case is weaker. We will run the numbers both ways so you can see the difference.

The SEG obliges every electricity supplier with at least 150,000 domestic customers to pay you for electricity you export to the grid. Your installation has to be MCS certified to qualify, which ours are.

Rates are set by the suppliers themselves, not by government, and they vary a lot. You do not have to take the export tariff from the supplier who sells you electricity, so it is worth comparing before you sign up.

Yes, and we handle it. Smaller domestic systems can be connected and then notified to the distribution network operator. Larger systems need approval from the DNO before they are connected, which takes time and occasionally comes back with conditions.

We deal with the paperwork either way and tell you upfront if your system falls into the second category, because it affects your timeline.

One to two days for most domestic installations. Adding a battery usually adds a day. Roof complexity, scaffolding and access can extend it.

You will have a date before we start, and if it moves you will hear it from us rather than working it out from the fact nobody turned up.

Yes. Panels generate from daylight, not direct sunlight, so they produce on overcast days, just less than on a clear one.

This is already accounted for in UK generation figures. It is why an MCS performance estimate for your roof is a more useful number than a panel's peak output rating, which you will only ever see in ideal conditions.

Very little. There are almost no moving parts.

We recommend an inspection every one to two years to check connections, mountings and inverter health, and to clean the array if it needs it. We do that for you. Between visits, the monitoring platform gives us insights as well.

Our installation, after-sales and R&D teams are all in house, so the people who designed your system are the people who come back to it. You are not being routed to a subcontractor who has never seen the property.

Product warranties are held with the manufacturers and workmanship is covered by our own guarantee. The specific terms for your equipment are set out in writing with your design, so you have the actual figures rather than a claim on a website.

Yes. We take on troubleshooting, repairs, inverter and battery replacements, and performance investigations on installations that are not ours.

If you have a system that has never produced what you were told it would, that is a common enough problem to be worth a look.

Yes, and it is one of the better upgrades. We configure the charger to draw surplus generation first and fall back to cheap-rate import overnight, so in summer a good part of your charging costs you nothing.

It works the other way round too. If you already have a charger and are adding solar, we will design the array around the load the car actually puts on it.

MCS is the certification scheme for small-scale renewable installations in the UK. It sets standards for the equipment, the installation and the company doing it, and certified installers are audited against them.

It matters practically as well as reputationally. You need an MCS certified installation to claim Smart Export Guarantee payments, and most lenders and insurers expect it. We are MCS certified, and we are members of RECC and registered with TrustMark and NAPIT.
